Palm Oil Waste As Biomass Energy
www.intranusan.com – Biomass energy is renewable energy, because it comes from organic or biological materials such as plants, animals, or their residues. Renewable sources are the advantages of biomass, it can be done by planting certain plants in a plantation area, or by animal husbandry.
Biomass energy utilizes unused waste. Wastes such as crops, house construction, wood waste, oil palm plantation waste and so on can be converted into electrical energy or fuel by burning.
Indonesia has great potential as a producer of biomass energy. Namely by utilizing palm oil waste, namely from the use of oil palm shells.
Why is Palm Oil Waste suitable for use as biomass energy?
- High Evaporation Rate
The content of the intensity of evaporation levels contained in palm shells is very high up to 69-70%, and carbon sulfur substances contained in palm shells are relatively low so as to reduce air pollution. This proves that using biomass energy from palm shells will be much more environmentally friendly. In contrast to using coal or natural resource fuels which will create high pollution. With this high evaporation rate, at least palm shells are able to become an alternative energy potential on earth.
- Potential as a Power Plant
Currently, power plants in Indonesia still use fossil fuels, while the demand for electricity installation in various regions is increasing, the imbalance in demand with the resources used has caused many regions to experience an electricity crisis. Utilization of biomass energy from palm shells can be used for electricity generation.
